My budget is $150 which seems to be low from what I have been looking at.
I have noticed my dell laptop has a very bad headphone jack that is already wearing out after less then 90 days.
I would think about having them warranty it out but then again its gonna be the same low quality jack.
I have a pair of German Maestro 8.35D, which I love other then the small head band to them.
I want to find a good amp hopefully in my price range that will supply them with adequate power.

Ps. I already cleaned the headphone port with a q tip and cleaned the headphone male connector.
How bad would it be to put a dab of dielectric grease on the male connector?

$150 would be good for just a headphone amp. But if your jack is bad, then you need a combined DAC/headphone amp to avoid the jack all together.

Fiio E17 is $104 right now on Amazon (very low price). Has USB and optical connection capability (whichever you prefer). There's a very lengthy discussion thread on this DAC/amp where you can read and ask questions to learn more: http://www.head-fi.org/t/587912/fiio-e17-alpen-first-impression-final-thought. Be sure to read the review in the first post.
