So I was planning on getting a pair of Steelseries Siberia v2 for my gaming purposes, but after receiving an audio adapter as a gift, I'm having second thoughts (also, I'm getting impatient waiting several months for these to go back down to ~$50 -_-).

Anyhow, this is the audio adapter I'm using: http://www.vantecusa.com/en/product/view_detail/439
and I'm using Sennheisser HD201's, but I'm in need of a mic for in game communication (which is why I was considering the Siberia v2's in the first place). I'm not a fan of having a mic on my table, but if I can get THAT much better audio quality for my <$60-70 budget, I would consider.

In short, wondering what kind of headphone/headset I should be looking into, and if having the audio adapter I have would affect my choices.

P.S. The audio on this audio adapter is actually pretty amazing; I was definetely expecting less from it, and was surprised at the quality it produces.

Also suggestions on earbuds <$30 since my earbuds broke about a week ago :/
Thanks

If you really don't want a separate mic on your desk, you could get a mic like the Zalman ZM-Mic1, some velcro dots (to attach the mic to the headphone) and a headphone that fits your budget.

Thanks for the suggestion; I've looked at some reviews on the Zalman ZM-Mic1, and it seems to be pretty good.  Guess I'll end up ditching a gaming headset...

As for headphone-wise, I'll look around the forum first (new here, heh).
