Question on finding my PC's digital output

Sorry for not updating sooner, but the cable does not work on my PC.. That's OK as I'll buy a USB to Optical adapter.

Did you make sure to plug the adapter in the right hole?  It might not be the headphone out, but the line out that is the 3.5mm/optical plug.  You also have to enable the SPDIF output in either the default sound device setup in Windows, or your music player's settings.

Oh... I didn't try the line out at all... and I already ditched the cable....
 
Well they are cheap so let my get another..
