Will I loose sound quality if I use a line out to a male to male connector? The line out is a silver shielded radio shack cord about 4 feet long, about as thick as my 555 cable,I think. The male to male is silver as well. The headphone jack on my soundcard is getting loose because of me swapping my headphones all the time so I have to start using an adaptor.

I'd be much more concerned about the grip strength of that line-out or headphone jack on the back of your soundcard. RadioShack cables are ok for budget reasons but you should be looking for other recommendations for a long-ish MINI-MINI IC.

I don't think you will lose much quality out of a soundblaster live value soundcard.
