Just want to try out the electrostat headphone sound. The STAX SRS-005 seems to be in the resonable price range-400US which includes the new SR-003 headphone and a driver. Any people had try this can? I will be glad to know what I am expecting if I am going to purchase one.

If you wish to try out the electrostatic sound I would recomend
the 2020 system [covered by another thread here] as they are
far superior phones, the amp is the same.
The 001 headphone should sound better through the 2020 amp than with the 001 portable amp but unless portability or other reasons lead you to prefer the in ear 001 phones go for the 2020 system, it should not cost a whole lot more than the 005 sysem.
And you will definitely get more bang for your buck on the sound
quality front.
