How are they on pad spread? Is it putting a lot of pressure on the pads? It looks fine from here.

Maybe we should start a DIY Can-Stand forum??

Pad spread is perfect, but the rubber bands are highly unprofessional. I tried wrapping the "V" assembly in an ace bandage, but, I like the look of the natural wood better. It also works for my 303's. It is a work in progress, but it doesn't hold a candle to Snake's creation. Hat's off to creativity. If only Stax could have been that creative for $69. Maybe they feel that the straight design, doesn't cause damage to the pads, but it just doesn't look right.

YGPM. I sent the PM before I saw this.

Hey, dude, whatever works!!

FWIW, FYI, my design puts almost no pressure on the pads. The width, the taper from top to bottom, was computed with the 404's natural off-head shape in mind. The width at the bottom of the pads is only 2" from surface to surface.

I think you can do even better! You've got a real Stax stand to build on. Does my PM idea sound OK?

Snake,

Your stand looks great.

Doug,

It's okay, man. I miss your baby.

I'm gonna miss it also, but I think the Weebl will help me forget quite quickly.
