Question for Xbox 360 experts...

The new UK Elite ships with the Hitachi-LG GDR-8050L, but I don't know how that translates into other versions of the console in other territories. The drive MS uses probably changes constantly as they run out of inventory of one type of drive and switch to another.

well, some say the benq are quieter,

also theres the "patched" firmware for the LG and hitachi which allows you to play backup copies of your games, so if you dont want to let the same kids who wanted to check how does a slice of bolonga sound in your brand you denon CD player next to your original XBox 360 games, you can always let them play with backup copies to avoid them scratiching up the originals,

www.360drives.com

Benq/hitachi 79 on premium hdmi
TS MS28/hitachi 78 on premium non hdmi
hitachi 79 on almost all elite

I was gonna pick one up, but decided not to, indeed they are all gonna break...not even 3 years warranty will justify it. If you are looking for drive, you are probably gonna flash it...not worth doing it at this point in time.
