I don't have a Playstation 3 yet, but I am wondering what the USB jacks are used for. I read that the 80GB version will have 4 USB jacks and the 40GB version will have 2 USB jacks.

Do you know if the USB jack can be connected to an external hard drive?

If you can, is there existing software to play MP3 files on the PS3.

yes, but it needs to be fat32 or ext3 (i think this will also work)

also you need to create a folder /MUSIC
