I replaced the transformer of my tube power amp a while back and it has been sitting in my parts box ever since. According to the schematic of the power amp, the transformer can output several secondary voltages, 6V, 12V, 250V. I am now thinking of using this transformer to construct a power supply for a piece of equipment requiring 12V.

My question is, would the transformer be damaged if I just use the 12V secondary and left the otner secondaries unused?

Thanks Voodoochile, that was really quick.

So all I need to do is to get together the necessary wire, plugs, a suitable case/enclosure to fit the transformer, a fuse and an on/off switch and I'm ready for action!
