Question About the Etymotic ER-4P to ER-4S Adaptor Cable, What All Does it Do?

What does it do, specifically? Replaces the impedance and adjusts the frequency response for a amplified source? It seems no site really contains info on it as far as I could search.

It adds a certain amt of resistance or something like that IIRC (75 ohms?), and makes the er-4p into the er-4s. The latter of which is pretty much all-around better, especially if used with a good source and amp. Only problem is that it's harder to run from weaker portables.

Well the ER-4S has 100 ohms of impedence, whereas the ER-4P has 27... that's what it 'fixes'?

Yeah I guess. Technically the er-4p w/ adaptor is better than the er-4s alone though. Since you can switch between them for different occasions (portable and home), and the braided cable of the 4P is better than the reg. cable of the S. (less microphonics and stuff)
