I'm fairly new to the headphones scene. I never really was intersted in full size headphone, but my not being able to get used to IEM's and not finding really good sounding buds that were comfortable enough I've decided that I'll test the waters and start off with ATH m50's this xmas.
With that being said, I got to wondering why people on this site (or elsewhere) don't come up with 10 or 15 tracks that are opensource (freely distributable) that have a wide range of musicality (everything from classical to hip hop) to have as test tracks when reviewing equipment. The reason I'm thinking this would be good is it would allow everyone to read a review and compare what the author is hearing directly with their own equipment without the source material being a factor. So my question is why hasn't this been done?
