I have pair of Monster Inspirations (anc version) and an Asus Xonar Dgx 5.1 Headphone amp sound card. I also have a set of Logitech X-540's. I have the speakers plugged into the sound card with the green, black, and orange cables. I then have my headphones plugged into the headphone port on the volume control pod of the speaker system. Is this reducing the overall quality/power? Should I have the headphones plugged in directly to the sound card? Makes no difference?

Sometime, it is best to try it yourself! Won't hurt! If you are find that your headphone need more power, then maybe you should really try switching around your rig.
