I have recently bought a pair of B&W P3 headphones for use with my iPod Classic 5th gen and was considering buying the new Fiio e07k portable amp. I am very new to headphones and amps so am not very sure.

Would I notice an increase in sound quality?

All of my music is in lossless format.
Headphone specs are as follows:

Impedance 34 ohms
Frequency range 10Hz to 20kHz
Distortion (THD) 1mW <1% for 20Hz-20KHz <0.1% for 1KHz
Max. input power 50mW
Sensitivity 111dB/V at 1kHz

I would appriciate any advice or help as to what to do.
Thanks

I do not imagine the P3 is going to see huge improvements with a headphone amp primarily due to a few things.  The first of which is its high sensitivity and the second is its low impedance.  I think the iPods typically have output impedance values of less than 6 Ohms so the 34 Ohm impedance of the P3 will pose no damping issues.  I would say that even with a high end amp you are only going to get a 5-10% increase in sound quality mainly perceivable on the low end ( bass ).

You say not a huge improvement but do you think the improvement is enough for the £70 price tag of the Fiio E7?

Nope
