I've been considering buying some custom IEMs and have more or less narrowed it down to the Alien Ears C3, or the C2 with ambient tubes. I'd like to be able to use them for jogging (I live in a city so being able to hear traffic is important), and would still like to be able to talk to and hear other people if I have them on at a study or homework session.

I'm wondering how much of a sound quality difference there is between the C2 and C3, and if having the tubes is a large quality hit (or possibly quality gain?). I am not an audiophile, nor anywhere close. If there isn't a pretty clear difference in sound quality I would not be able to tell. The ambient tubes come with plugs, when they are in is it basically the same noise isolation as not having the tubes at all?

Thanks for any info!
