I'm probably going to buy a set of Creative T5400 5.1 speakers for my computer, and I just wanted to know if it was possible to have all 5 speakers workign at the same time when playing music files. How does this work? Will all 5 speakers become active when in surround mode? And do only the front speakers work when in stereo mode, or do all 5 speakers kick in but only work in stereo as opposed to surround?

depends on your soundcard settings and music files...

unless you are playing multichannel music files (dts wavs for example) you will only get stereo. You can get all speakers working if you have a setting in your soundcard like stereo expander (av710 has that option).

Yeah I guess you probably read my last post in the Chaintech thread

. My music is all in LAME MP3, so with that in mind, the stereo expander option would still definately work to use all speakers of the T5400?

yup stereo expander will output to all 5 speakers
