What about the sound, do you like 590 better ?

Now I'm confused, 595 pretty much fall into your description and imo the pads are not significantly smaller. Have you tried 650 ?

If 531 are not comfortable enough ... wow, you're really looking for comfort with a capital M.

The Beyerdynamic DT 931 are very comfortable with an upfront sound - no viel whatsoever. They do benefit from a higher impedence output but that can easily be solved with an adaptor. However, many amps seem to drive them with no problem, making the adapter unneccesary. I have not spent a lot of time with them, but I imagine the DT880 would provide similar comfort. I don't think they're quite as detailed, though.
