Having just purchased a used Woo Audio 3 series amp,
I am confused as to which # Designation is for which version of this amp.

Is the 3+ really the Gen 2 version without the Pre?

From The Woo Audio News Page:

05-28-2010
  1. The WA3+ is renamed to WA3. The preamp output has been redesigned to use driver and power tubes, making it the most powerful and complete version of this series.

I believe I have read most of the WA3 threads here, all 27 billion pages,
but I seem to get the impression that folx here refer to these 2 distinctly different amps the other way around.

I will refer to them as the "Gen 1" or "Gen 2" series amps until I get set straight.

I figured it would be better to ask here, than keep the Woo Crew from getting orders out

I got the the "Gen 1" version WITH the preamps  on purpose, to drive some non reference media.
I am venturing into the musical side of listening & am setting up a signal chain that is not analytical by nature.

I will be using it's pre into My Yamaha P-2200, as well as drive some Cans that have some color.

I know my unit is "Gen 1" because it does not have the tube numbers on a removable top plate.
The pictures show a cover over where the voltage sw is located on other units .

Can you here me drumming my fingers while I check the tracking info again & again

Sorry if this has already been addressed, I really looked to see if it had.

I Will post Pix when it arrives, on The Woopreciation thread.

Woot!
