Where do you live iriverdude? I live in California and I know for sure that they sell enloop batteries at Costco and I know this because my family bought some there and I saw them recently when I went to Costco. Hope this helps.

Try Thomas Distributing online for Eneloops.

Problem with Costco, is that if you're looking for AAA's specifically, there are only a few in the mostly AA pack. I really wish they carried AAA only packs.

slow charging rate seem better for these Eneloop batteries ... i use La Crosse charger BC-900

shown on this picture are AA size batteries

I think my Ansmann Energy 16 is fixed rate, quite fast

500mA and below charge these batteries at cooler temperature ... got my La Crosse BC-900 at Thomas Distribution many years ago.. this charger retired all my previous battery chargers

Nice charger - I'm just using the standard Eneloop charger by Sanyo.

indeed, the oem Sanyo charger that comes with eneloop package is very good.. charge rating around 200mA
