I need some advice on purchasing headphones. These would be for home usage in a quiet room. I have seen good reviews about the BeyerDynamic's 770 and 990 32ohm headphones. The price is right as I don't want to spend too much on my first pair of home Over Ear headphones. Any thoughts on these headphones or alternatives would be appreciated.
I had DT990 250 ohms. I guess it depends on your music preferences, I would not recommend most beyerdynamic headphones for rock, edm or electronic music if you don't have proper amp.
I found my DT770s (80 Ohm)to be the best closed headphones under $200 in terms of soundstage, comfort, and fairly balanced sound (in that order). The 32s shouldn't need an amp; the 80s can run OK without one, but definitely benefit from extra power.
Look at the HiFiMan HE-400S or if you would want a more neutral presentation the 400i’s the S doesn’t need a amp the i would be better with one as both of them would like a bit more power.
