Ms. Squealzibule and I were just jawing about this: The new release arose (figuratively) after I'd screened a taste of the ineffably bad version by MCI. M.S., despite said bad, wanted more due to the lobe-infecting excellence of the content:

Feedback from a Bava-specific forum, with posts by Video Watchdog editor, Tim Lucas.
Speaking of whom: The DVD will feature a commentary by Mr. "Fine-Buttocked Facts" Lucas himself. His commentary track on Black Sunday is one of the best I've ever heard; it's the equivalent of auricling an audiobook written by a Bava scholar (which, of course, T.L. is and has, having excreted the useful tome, All the Colors of the Dark).
I've already preordered said disc from Deep Discount DVD. I'd have supported the source, but Dark Sky's site is expensive and asks invasive security questions.
