Okay, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the Beyer DT 231s from Headphone.com.

I decided that a sealed can was the best for me but didn't want to spend to much for my first "real" set of HPs. I'll post my thoughts after I've had a chance to listen to them. Thanks to everyone for their posts on this forum. Very helpful.

A word of warning, AFAIK these cans aren't very "sealed."
