Has anyone with a Solo ever compared the energy efficient psu with the PSU1? Just wondering if it's a worthwhile upgrade.

I would say its worthwhile for two reasons
1. Slightly better SQ
2. The Solo sounds better when constantly powered up and personally I would not trust the cheaper PS to be left on all the time.

PS I will 'probably' be selling my Solo SRG I with PSU1 very soon. If you are interested in the PSU1 bought just over 12 months ago and in perfect condition let me know via PM.

I bought my Solo with the intro PSU and upgraded to PSU1 and the difference was sizeable. If you can get the PSU1 for a decent price I would definately recommend you get it. The HD650's will reveal the increase in SQ easily.

By the way I got mine from Audiologica, great company & people to deal with....

I too tried both the Solo and Novo w/ the switching psu and the regulated PSU1. There was no problem in hearing the improvements brought by the PSU1. Good luck.

I started with my GS Solo "green" and I can say that the sound is more solid with the PSU1. G
