PS Audio Perfect Wave Transport $2995

More Details and an in depth look into the PerfectWave pieces can be found HERE

Both pieces Are shipping and have been wowing crowds at audio shows for the last year. Each piece has a touch screen to display album artwork and song titles. The PWT is a fully upgradable software driven "memory player" which means you are never actually listening to the disc itself. It sends the signal through a 64MB RAM buffer and then re-clocks it through PS Audio's famous "Digital Lens" before it gets sent to the PWD (DAC) or any other DAC.The Perfect Wave DAC sets a new standard for DACs at any price. It will decode almost any sampling rate and offers many different up-sampling options, although it sounds best at standard 16bit/44.1kHz through an I2S cable connected with the PWT.

As a special for current PS Audio trade-ins they can receive the full $1000 trade-up credit toward either piece if their piece is"working or not".

**Trade-in Values will be determined by listings in the Audio Blue Book as published on Audiogon.

Also, each trade-in is only valid if its a Dac for the Dac and a CD/DVD Player for the Transport. Please contact Drew at 919-649-5018 for more details or moon-audio@earthlink.net

PWD-full-2.jpg

The PerfectWave DAC will change the way you think about digital to analog converters forever. It accesses high-resolution digital audio data from multiple sources such as a CD transport, CD player, computer, network, or the Internet and converts the data to the most musically natural sounding analog audio ever produced. The PWD is the first high-end product to fully transcend the limitations of traditional digital to analog converters by providing uncompromised performance for any media delivery or storage system possible. This means that it no longer matters how the digital audio data is stored or delivered, the PWD produces the same high performance audio sent over a network, taken from a hard drive, a CD or even downloaded via the Internet. As a music server, the PWD can access and control any compatible network source such as a network hard drive (NAS), or stream music directly off the Internet.

Tough Question. It really is system dependant. Do you have a stellar Transport or Dac already? If you’re going to do an all computer based scenario then the Dac for sure. If you have a massive cd collection and a great Dac then the Transport. But to really reap the benefits of High Res music which is starting to outcrop more and more you have to get both at some point I would say. Personally I would start with the Dac and then down the road get the Transport. I will have both for sure

Any thoughts on how to maximize the $1000 trade in since basically all you need is a DAC in working condition that initially listed for $1000 or more? It would be much better if they had a limited one time price like some of the Headphone manufacturer's do on the introduction rather than doing the trade in.

Nice try!

Sorry only single trade ins.

I had a chance to listen to it several times at CES and Rocky Mountain, but not on my own gear yet. I was very impressed, but can’t comment on the signature yet. I'm pretty confident that this will be my new reference piece. And that is saying a lot for me.

I understand both the PWT and PWD required a cable connection to the network versus wireless. If your house isn't wired for a network, how are these pieces going to connect into the computer network?

For Itunes it would work like any other USB Dac. Once the Bridge card comes out they plan to have an interface like the Logtech Transporter has. Which will most likely read your iTunes library just like the SlimServer does with the Transporter.

I am pretty sure the Network Bridge is going to be wireless. But if not it is easy to add a wireless access point with a Dlink or Lynksys piece on the cheap.
