Proof of Cable Effects?

I will be doing a variety of frequencies, but as for the specific make I am going down next week to find out, I know that it is above 16 bit resolution, so above 96 db dynamic. The profesors are EE majors so they should b able to offer up some input.

I did it with the RMAA software, a Yamaha CD Player as a source, and a Sony DAT deck as a recorder.

I measured no differences between various interconnects, including the standard 2.30 € one, and some audiophile ones up to 500 €, exept two :

A 6 meters standard interconnects showed a 0.02 db roll-off at 20 kHz, compared to all other interconnects (none more than one meter).

The 50 Hz induction from the mains was variable according to the position of the devices, or even the position of the cable.

Harmonic and intermodulation distorsion were unaffected, as well as dynamics.

Yeah, IMO impedance is the only factor that could play a difference in the final result.
