Go WinAmp+ASIO!

Foobar2k is great, but I don't care about customization and I don't ever have my music player covering a large portion of my screen. The WinAmp skin MMD3 has the best winshade mode there is. It doesn't interfere with anything else I might be doing on my computer while I'm listening to music. Also I can have a small pane to display album art in the bottom right hand corner of my screen.

mediamonkey is better for maintaining a large library and it supports flac

I don't agree. You can set up Foobar2k to function as well as Mediamonkey's library. Almost everyone here with large libraries (5000+ tracks) uses Foobar2k.
