I have just setup a PC headphone rig with the Matrix m-stage DAC. I faced two issues which I would like to seek advice.
Firstly, I am getting very frequent distortion from PC activities such as mouse movement or launching of applications or whenever the CPU seem to be loaded. I have searched hard online but found no workable solution so far. It seems to me like some sort of a signal dropout. I am connecting it to a fairly new PC with the latest driver but on a USB 3.0 port. All interconnects are of decent audiophile grade.
Secondly, I observed that all the LEDs start pretty bright but dims down over time. However, the power LED is very dim compared to the four other LEDs. It looks as if it is not lit up at all at steady state. The sound seems ok to be but I am not sure if the LED has a detrimental effect to the sound.
