I’m using the Titanium HD (long story short; I recently changed back to the HD from the STX the other day) ...however, my THX settings (Surround and Crystalliser) were fine before I done the tediously drawn-out installation the other day - but Wasapi is messing about with the THX settings on the console now??? > > > Surround and Crystalliser doesn’t work anymore – only when I go into "Preference Output" > "Device" and then change from "Wasapi: Speakers" > "DS: Speakers" I can then use the Surround and Crystalliser settings. But we all know its all about the WASAPI.
 
Any idea how to override this problem please?

Working as intended. WASAPI and ASIO are expected to bypass Crystallizer, CMSS3D and all the other stuff that "enhances" sound. It seems to me like something wasn't working right before. If you want to keep those running, you have to use DS.

WASAPI and WASAPI are 2.
- shared mode, all audio is routed trough the Win mixer. Pretty much like DS
- exclusive, the Win mixer is bypassed and the audio is send straight to the audio device.
Might explain why it has been 'working'
