I have this ancient sony D-9 diskman (circa 1985) that can't seem to spin the disks. For a while I was able to get the disk to play if I first spun the disk manually and then quickly closed the top and pressed play. The "head start" helped the weak motor out. Now the motor won't spin it at all no matter what I do, but the unit seems to be working otherwise.

Anyone know if this is easily fixable? Is it worth it to fix? I can't bring myself to throw it away because it's built like a tank and it is a really nice player when it works!

If this is not worth fixing, what would be a good replacement unit that would work well with Ety 4P/S canalphones and a TA? From what I've read here, it seems like Sony and Panasonic have the best pcdp's.

Thanks!

Vince
