This thing is LOUD with my E500s. Too loud. If I lower the volume past the last dash on the knob I notice the left ear gets quieter first. Does this happen with all of them or is this cause for concern?

I assume that you have the Hornet set to Low Gain. If not, you should certainly do so for e500s.

There is no issue with one side cutting out before the other when reducing the volume like that.

You have it on low gain right?
I notice the 1 channel less loud thing also, but it does not occur until the volume is nearly zero, so it's a non-issue to me as I rarily listen that low.

Maybe you should try lowering your source volume...

If your i-pod is your source you are better with a LOD. If you are using mini-mini Sieg9198 is right. Turn it down !!!!!!!
