Problem with MSN Messenger email notifications and Head-Fi

I use MSN Messenger all the time, part of it is about keeping in touch with friends all over the world but the other part is the email notification that pops up in the lower righthand corner when I recieve a new mail on my Hotmail account. Recently I've noticed that emails from Head-Fi such as PM notifications and replies to subcribed thread notifications don't pop up and in fact don't even register on my Messenger main window that tells me how many new emails I have although they will show up if I shut down and restart. I believe I'm having the same problem with notifications from Audio Circles as well but can't be sure on that. Other than that I seem to be getting notification of all my other emails as soon as they come in.

So far I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Messenger and also trying the new beta version but no luck. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing it or a possible fix?

They might be considered junk mail, therefore not counted on the MSN messenger popup. Have they been classified as normal mail? I would think it has more to do with your hotmail account than the MSN program

No they are normal mail, they come into my inbox just like all my other email. I've always received the notifications up until about a week or two ago. As far as I know I haven't done anything to my settings that would affect them.
