I just got my SR-40's like 2 weeks ago and they already have a problem. The sound cuts in and out when ever u move the cable and sometimes it gets staticy. I think its the cable's problem, but i just don't know how i can fix or go about this problem.

It sounds like a cable problem. On a similar note, I got my SR-40s a few years back, and have probably put a total of 2 hours on them. They've been in a plastic case for over a year now, unused. I actually took them out last night to listen, and there is absolutely no sound coming from the left driver. I wiggled the cord a lot.......still nothing. I may give Grado a call, but I don't know if the cost of sending them in for repair is worth it. I may get brave and tackle this problem myself. It's really strange, because I know they worked the last time I used them.

Call Grado and ask if you can have them repaired.
