Hello everyone,

I tried asking in the introduction/help section, but I had no replies. For weeks, I was having a problem where my speakers sound did not sound balanced, with sound generally pulling to the left. I bought a Behringer UCA202 originally to hook up a sampler to make music with, and then I read it can be used as a DAC. I connected my speakers via the UCA202, and it fixed my sound balance problem AND made the sound quality sound better overalll---but after fixing my previous problems, it brought up two more problems.

1. There is a random crackle in my left speaker from time to time.
2. After using my computer for a random amount of time, the sound will be delayed from what is happening on my screen by half a second or so.

I really liked how much the sound quality improved, but now I have more problems than before...and I'm not even sure if I want to use the UCA202 to hook up my sampler now if it will make stuff I record delayed or have a crackle in it. Anyone have this issue before?

Common TOO small audio buffersize mistake cause:
If you hear clicks & pops during playback, try to adjust Audio Buffer Size somewhere in the config settings.

You ppl need to study the USB DEVICES ground loop causing hum and/or data noise problems.

And use ASIO4ALL driver to fix audio latency, google's your best fiend!

I think I (possibly) solved the noise problem by changing some CPU settings. I also found people mentioning the ASIO4ALL driver in google, but I couldn't figure out how to get it properly activated. The instruction manual that comes with the download says I should see something pop up in my system tray, but I saw nothing and couldn't get any sound from my speakers after installing it.

The instructions for the driver that comes with the UCA202 says you can install ASIO4ALL as an alternative, but there must be something more to it, because I can't get any sound from my speakers if I uninstall the UCA202 original driver and try ASIO4ALL in its place.

All the ASIO4ALL guides I search for explain how to use it with a specific program, like Cubase. I haven't found a guide for installing it just to use the UCA202 as a DAC to connect speakers to a PC. I have no option to open ASIO4ALL in the start menu, or the system tray after installing it.

ASIO4ALL can only be selected in the supported software program AUDIO OUTPUT settings. Then ASIO can be popup.
Pros: ASIO is low latency and audio bitstream perfect because of windows mixer bypass.
Cons: No windows audio programs mixing, i.e. you can't play ASIO and Windows sound programs at the same time, you can't hear youtube video's or mediaplayers when ASIO is active somewhere else at the same time etc.

This is a guide on  how to set up ASIO4ALL with FL Studio. So....do I have to install some sort of software like FL Studio just to activate the driver?

YES, ONLY if the software program have own audio output selection config. , ie. foobar, DAW, asio plugin for winamp etc.

The Behringer UCA202 comes with its own ASIO driver, but that is still causing problems, hence me wanting to use the ASIO4ALL driver instead. The instructions say to install the Behringer ASIO driver OR the ASIO4ALL driver. I have no idea how to get the ASIO4ALL driver to work. Are you saying ASIO4ALL only generates sound for certain programs? I want to have sound when watching movies and playing games on my computer too...Behringer's ASIO drivers creating the delayed sound, so I want to figure out how to get ASIO4ALL to work as my overall sound driver. The longer I have it connected, the more delay it gains. I left it connected overnight, and now I have a 2 second sound delay.

Where do you select the Behringer ASIO to make it active, if at the same place ASIO4ALL doesn't show up means not possible.
Then only in those software programs only, because ASIO4ALL is an emulator.

You should check Behringer ASIO buffer config settings etc. make sure only 1 output device is active.

I have found no "Behringer ASIO buffer config settings" or anything similar. When I pull up the driver, all I can do is disable it or uninstall it.
