I have a Pro-Ject USB Box and every now and then it throws a bit of a fit and just outputs static. It can do it while in Windows (XP SP2) but mostly when playing games (it can happen every other minute). The only way to stop it is to escape out of the game back to the main menu and sometimes that does not work. It's extremely annoying. I've installed all the latest drivers for the games with no effect.
It's a plug and play DAC that uses Windows built in USB speaker driver. Is there anything I can do to stop the static output or do I need a better DAC (tbh I'm not overly impressed with any of the Pro-Ject equipment I own, but I do like the small footprints)
