Pro-Ject DACs

Never heard a Pro Ject DAC, but the pricing of those DACs is just ridiculous, to be perfectly honest. The USB Box S+ has a 200€ price tag. Like what? You can get a Modi 2 Uber for less and a Modi 2 for ony half the price (almost) or you can get an ODAC for half the price.
The DAC Box S USB comes with a TI DAC which is designed for MP3 players at price of around 150€ ...150€ !!!!! ... it just baffles me.
The USB Box S is priced at 100€... again, what the hell??? The specs are those of a 12€ chinese DAC.  Its laughable.

But then again... never heard any of those devices. Maybe they all have killer sound and perform like champs...

Love this little DAC. For my purposes, it's a no brainer.

Have had good success with both the Pro-Ject USB Box S+ and S2+. Am currently running the [tweaked out*] S+ with a Wyred4Sound integrated and Triangle BR02 monitors.

No complaints here!

[tweaked out* = using S+ with AQ Jitterbug, Ultra-Fi Digital Conduit USB cable, ifi iPurifier3, DakiOm R/L Feedback Stabilizer, SoundSilver Cosmos interconnects, Shakti Stone, Alan Maher RFI box . . . ]

I’m very partial to the DAC Box S FL with 4xTDA1543 dac chips. So much so I have two of them! I have the black and silver. The silver is on my budget setup which I run thru a cheap optical to usb adapter (SD-AUD20101) then Apple USB to Lightning. I use “Golden Ear” on my iPhone - it has FLAC/CUE and FTP support which is all I need for my CD EAC rips.
