Sad news for 2021. The industry has lost a giant. I have yet to have the privilege to hear one of his designs, but I know that his work is very highly regarded within the community.

To my knowledge, his microphone preamp (1073 model) was probably his most famous design and used on a lot of famous albums in recording studios from back in the 1970s.

I’m pretty sure that even today his design and spin off designs are still used with modern recordings. A lot of companies out there are making clone style preamps based on the 1073 model.

And I’m pretty sure microphone companies like Sennheiser, AKG, Beyerdynamic know who he is since he is a pioneer in the microphone preamp world
