Is iriver expected to release a new model anytime soon that might drive down the price of the 120? I'm not sure I wanna fork out ~ $350

Big question: cheapest place to find it (new) online besides ebay?

Thanks a lot! When you buy an iriver, how do you go about putting a warranty on it? Do you send something to iriver or does it have to be through the retailer?

I don't think you could to go through retailers unless they offered their own warranty (like BestBuy, but you need to pay extra).
Most of time you deal with the vendor directly. They will ask you for "proof of purchase" (which verified whether the item is still in the warranty period) when you contact them.
