I'm looking for some accurate powered monitors that play very loud, such as The M audio studiophile AV30.  I like this speaker a lot but it just doesn't play loud enough. It needs to have easy ipod / mp3 player connectivity Also I need a set of speakers that I am able to connect a powered sub to.

Err IMO u are not getting anywhere near "accurate" with a pair of AV30s 

 Why not go with a simple line out kit for apple gadgets/mp3 player, feed a beefy stereo amp and go with vintage/classic floor standers that go fairly low? A bad sub would prolly do more harm than good for music anyways

Actually seeing this is a basement system, drop down to AVS Forums - i recalled a dude actually posting his project log of renovating his basement from scratch, choosing his audio set up/hardware and some insights so might just be what u looking for
