How would I have to configure the META42 board if I decided on a SPST power switch with a led built in? Are there separate leads for the led or does it just use the current through the switch when on? Thanks.

Not specific to the META 42, but the lighted switches I've used on other things have had separate connections for the switch part and the LED. Therefore, you should be able to just connect the switch and LED leads to the respective spots on the META 42 board.
