Any recommendations for a (step-down) power regulator? I need a clean / linear output of 220V, from an input of 235V - slightly inflated from EU mains voltage of 230V.

whats the reason for the need of regulation? most devices are specified for 220-240V excluding some really old ones

Because the device is a really old one. It is specified for 220V, and at worst +5% or -15% "but preferrably not".

220V AC, and the power demand is usually 16-20W. It's an olde tube amplifier. Telefunken/Tab V76.

Why not use a transformer? There are a plenty for stepping down 230V to 220V With the specified range, you can even go with 230V to 210V to stay in the range.

Any step-down transformers within that range that you would recommend? The ones I have seen that fit the range are variable, like this one. I don't know how good the quality of those is, though.
