Does anyone have any experience with trying aftermarket power cords with the Max? I'm not talking the megabuck ones just a good cord to replace the ones that come with the amps.

I've used a www.latinternational.com AC2 with the maxed out home reference with the stepped atten. This should be very close to the Max. I got improved bass(tighter and maybe deeper) The sound in general was more focused and cleaner. I'm using these cords now on every thing I have and have got good results on everything. I am using a Cardas Quadlink power cable, and I agree with Tom's assessment regarding the overall effect. Everything seemed a more focused and tighter overall, more pronounced in the bottom end. I started with the stock cable, upgraded to an Absolute Power cable, and then settled on the Cardas.

i have the maxed home reference and use the shunyata research diamondback pc and i got better bass and better focus (hd600 & dt770pro)
