I currently own one of these, which I love: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Passive-preamplifier-ALPS-Potentiometers-/190836562928

But I may need to order another passive volume control for a 2nd setup, and I'm considering trying a stepped attenuator, such as this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Passive-Preamplifier-Dale-Resistor-Stepped-attenuator-/271214681553

I'd be interested to hear anyone's experience with stepped attenuators vs potentiometers, which you prefer, and why. Also, if anyone can chime in on Dale resistors and what advantages, if any, they offer over other resistors, I'd be interested to hear that as well.

Thanks.
