the curved underside of the S9 will make it awkward to bundle with a portable amp. What do you think will be the best compromise to neatly bundle them together for transport?

silicone case, or add spacers like rubber pencil grips

I'd suggest appplying some film type protection on any part of your equipment that will be in contact with even a piece of rubber. Clear mildly adhesive shelf lining works great for this.
