HI. I have an mpx3 slam, and changing from cry'od Tung sol 5687 to sylvania 5687 it seems like I have to put the pot higher to get the same volume. Does this happen? or is it something else, like maybe I find something lacking in the sylvania's and need to give them a subconscious boost?

Also, my amp makes a slight humming noise. is this standard too?
