"Piece Of Crap"

Tried to save the trees
Bought a plastic bag
The bottom fell out
It was a piece of crap

Saw it on the tube
Bought it on the phone
Now you're home alone
It's a piece of crap

I tried to plug it in
I tried to turn it on
When I got it home
It was a piece of crap

Got it from a friend
On him you can depend
I found out in the end
It was a piece of crap

I'm trying to save the trees
I saw it on TV
They cut the forest down
To build a piece of crap

I went back to the store
They gave me four more
The guy told me at the door
It's a piece of crap

(....)

This be a declaration
written about my friends
it's engraved into this song
so they know I'm not forgetting them
see maybe if the world contained
more people like these
then the news would not be telling me
about all that warfare endlessly and

Our weapons were our instruments
made from timber and steel
we never yielded to conformity
but stood like kings
in a chariot that's riding on
a record wheel

And, Emily - I saw you last night by the river
I dreamed you were skipping little stones across the surface of the water
Frowning at the angle where they were lost, and slipped under forever
In a mud-cloud, mica-spangled, like the sky'd been breathing on a mirror

Anyhow - I sat by your side, by the water
You taught me the names of the stars overhead that I wrote down in my ledger
Thoough all I knew of the rote universe were those pleiades loosed in december
I promised you I‘d set them to verse so I'd always remember

That the meteorite is a source of the light
And the meteor's just what we see
And the meteoroid is a stone that's devoid of the fire that propelled it to thee

And the meteorite's just what causes the light
And the meteor's how it's perceived
And the meteoroid's a bone thrown from the void that lies quiet in offering to thee

- Joanna Newsom

Years later, she found herself
Mississippi bound to help
Stop the legalized lynching of Mr. Willy McGee.
But they couldn't stop it,
So they thought that they'd talk to the governor about what'd happened
And say, "We're tired of being used as an excuse to kill black men."
But the cops wouldn't let 'em past
And these women, they struck 'em as uppity
So they hauled 'em all off to jail
And they called in protective custody.
Then from her cell
She heard her jailers
Grumblin' about "outsiders".
When she called 'em out
And said she was from the south, they shouted,
"Why is a nice, Southern lady makin' trouble
For the governor?"
She said, "I guess I'm not your type of lady,
And I guess I'm not your type of Southerner,
But before you call me traitor,
Well it's plain as just to say (?)
I was a child in Mississippi
but I'm ashamed of it today."

The Beatles - Across the Universe

Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,
they slither wildly as they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind,
possessing and caressing me
Jai guru deva om...

Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes,
they call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box, they
tumble blindly as they make their way, across the universe
Jai guru deva om...

Sounds of laughter, shades of life are ringing
through my open ears, inciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a
million suns and calls me on and on, across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world

Time

But you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.

The sun is the same, in a relative way but your older.
Shorter of breath, and one day, closer to death

Every Step of the Way

Well it's been 9 or 10 years since I started my ramblin round
and from hand to mouth I was livin, playin every bar in town.
Though a dollar a day didn't go too far, I could never deny my pride.
I couldn't lay back and be taken care of, while the world went by outside.

So I went to school to learn, but I didn't like what they teached.
And I went to church to pray, but I didn't like what they preached.
I was hot-headed, young and angry, and I felt I could take the heat.
And I had to find out my own way, how to live out on the street.

So I packed my bags and I left here, to peruse the streets alone.
And I saw that side of midnight, where the beggars howled and groaned.
Faces filled with desperation, where the future ain't so bright
But I remember back in Kansas, when we sang this song at night Every Step........

RIP Sir John
Working Class Hero- "So you think your so clever and classless and free, but your still farging peasants as far as I can see."

Suffocation-Effigy of the Forgotten-Liege of Inveracity

Forced into your mind, passed down through the centuries
Cultures will collide, holy wars for what?
Holy book of god, holy book of lies

Chanting scriptures in vain
Hoping to allow to rest
Hopeful peaceful life
Compassion all but gone
Effigy of what's to come
Hopeless, worthless dreams
Sorrow scars your brain
End the weak, all is dead

Come see, my light
Misguided fools, I shall guide
Grant thyself, all your minds
Liege of inveracity

Follow still you will
Puppets to take your lord
Only gaining faith for
An imminent demise
Reduce your wretched mind
With these false prophecies
Now I will prevail
All servants left to rot

A new race I will now create
As I end their pityful lives
My destiny has only begun
To torture future minds

Death-The Sound of Perseverance-Spirit Crusher

It comes from the depths
Of a place unknown to the
Keeper of dreams
If it could then it would steal
The sun and the moon from the sky
Beware
Human at sight, monster at heart
Don't let it inside it could
Tear you right apart
No guilt, it feeds in plain sight
Spirit crusher
Stay strong and hold on tight
Spirit crusher
Speaking in killing words
The vicious kind that crush and kill
No mercy, its pleasure to taste
The blood that it bled
When it's time to feed to fulfill
The need to consume a breath
Some will rise standing tall
Breathing out all the breath from
The voice of a soul

Vultures, liars, thieves, each proclaim their innocence

Big city bound.
Gonna make your mark.
Read your name in the lights.

beauty lets you get your way.
Tried your best to prove them right.
But living on the streets ain't bad,
sad people make you glad.
Pardon me, could you spare some change?
Oooooooh, you're still crying - Della brown

After a quick thought, these three entries came into mind.

With wasted tears, that try to fight in vain,
You may be sitting, feeling quite secure,
But listen carefully - and this key is yours -

Memories of a lonely past
A boat set into the wind
Drifting lost in waters of doubt
On a journey that has no end

Torn and faded photographs
A chestful of old goodbyes
Tear streaked faces by the light of the moon
Here on a river of fools
Here on a river of fools

A trio of angels holding candles of light
Guide the ship to an unknown shore
Sad soul riders with arms drawn tight
As they stopped for just one more

Fingers pointed to a star in the sky
A message from someone they can't see
Tear streaked faces by the light of the moon
Here on a river of fools
Here on a river of fools

Traveling along a cloudy path
With a wing, a heart, and a prayer
Pieces fall from the heavens above
To a place they know not where

A string of beads in trembling hands
Heading close to the judgement day
Tear streaked faces by the light of the moon
Here on a river of fools
Here on a river of fools

never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
