The image rotates every hour with diagrams, old school poster, personal artwork, etc.

I try and keep the UI to a minimum. Anything on the desktop is what I work on. Hazel (shareware) is used to file away the desktop items when it hasn't been touched for a while.

Nothing pinned to the Dock and it stays hidden all the time.

LaunchBar (pictured in lower right -conforms to fitts law) is used instead to startup apps, do searches and plenty more. When it's not needed, it stays hidden.

Also use a 20" Cinema Display but these days, it's seldom used since I move around and Spaces does a great job of managing screens.
