I also realized I've been playing the new Spiral Stairs quite a bit. Very different from the Pavement sound, but I like it. Some of the tunes seem to have a bit of the 'no depression' influence heard in a lot of the local Seattle bands right now.

I have the vinyl, and it was cut by JJ Golden and sounds quite good. My guess is the CD may be compressed quite a bit knowing SS and Matador, but I haven't heard it to know for sure how it was mastered.

Received my Fuze LOD yesterday, which makes rediscovering many albums which I had almost forgotten about a real joy!
