Thermaltake XaserII case... built-in 5 case fans.
400watt Antec Silent Power Supply (or something like that... it's been a while)
P4 2.4c
Radeon9700np
1gb pc2700 ram
lite-on cdrw and dvd-rw drives
60gb, 120gb, 200gb, 120gb hd's

Audigy2 Platinum
RME digi96/8 PAD

The RME is less than a week old, and I love it even without proper ampage. My obvious upgrades are an amp and make this thing quieter... it's a beast, both in sound and weight (it weighs easily over 50lbs, and my setup makes it hell to get at).

1.
The audio realated stuff in my computer setup is:
Terratec DMX 6fire Lt
Plextor 12x10x32a
Pioneer 106S 16xDVD
Sennheiser HD600
Windows 2k
Foobar 2000
MP3s riped in EAC with Lame alt-preset
2.
The biggest problem (and my only real compliant) with my current set up is the noisy power supply fan. Other than that, I really like the DMX 6 fire and HD600 combo.
600smile.gif
Even without an amp they sound good together. I am pretty satified with the MP3s created by EAC and Lame, altough I'm temped to play around with some lossess formats.
3.
I am planning to first replace the fan in my power supply with a variable speed heat controlled fan or just upgrade to a quiter power supply. I am also planing on buying a PIMETA in the next 2 or 3 months.

Couple of changes:

1) got glass toslinks. it improved the sound over my old old ones which i assume were plastic
2) removed audiophile 24/96. Trying to clear up my PCI slots.
3) turned on onboard AC97

I still need something that beeps because when I play through ASIO and something w/ directsound tries to access my RME, there's this crazy white noise
4) switched to winamp as main audio player. The ASIO resampling using TOP quality is audibly better to me. I'm liking the crisper sound. foobar was getting a bit too "soft" for me.

what i have my headphones hooked up to (i'm assuming that's all you guys care about):

Powerbook G4 667
512MB PC133
30GB HD
> USB >
M-Audio Sonica Theater
> coax >
Modded ART DI/O (lots of things removed and replaced)

listening to EAC/LAME MP3s of at least APS, mostly APE in itunes. what would i change? nothing for a while. possible upgrade would be something like the RME multiface with cardbus adapter, but no one has reviewed it and i don't want to blow $900 on it without knowing if it's any good.

Abit NF7-S Rev 2.0
1gb OCZ EL Platinum PC3200 2-2-2-5
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb @ 425/360 (as of now, too lazy to benchmark out some more mhz)
M-Audio Revolution 7.1
LiteOn 52x CDRW
Toshiba 16x DVD
2x Western Digital 120gb SE
2x Western Digital 80gb SE
Maxtor 200gb 8mb Cache

Got quite a few machines running, actually.

Music PC
P2-333MHz
64MB PC66 SDRAM
Abit WB6 Motherboard
Integrated (a.k.a. crappy) sound and video
2GB Hard drive for windows 2000
30GB Hard drive for music
CD-RW drive for putting said music onto CDs
Realtek NIC
TV-Tuner card

This is the computer that, when i'm finished soldering the powersupply, will hold all my music and be connected to my stereo.

Server PC
Windows 2000 Advanced Server
12GB drive for backups and operating system
80GB drive for FTP
Compaq dual NIC
I think the other specs are similar to those of the music PC, it's not really important because once I get everything running I will just let this thing run 24/7 and not touch it, just hosting website, FTP site, and folding SETI.

Gaming/Main PC
Windows 2000 Professional
P4-2400MHz
512MB PC2100
CD-ROM and CD-RW
80GB drive for operating system and various files.
Gigabyte 848 motherboard
Geforce 3 video card
A Antec 430w powersupply that I think I killed.

PLANNED UPGRADES:
Get all that crap working
New powersupply if necessary
New sound card for Music PC
USB enclosures for all CD-ROM and CD-RW drives, maybe for some hard drives too.
Removable hard drives for the non-operating system drives

AMD Athlon XP Barton 2500+ @ 2.2GHz
Antec case (forgot model) w/ 300W Antec PSU
EPoX 8RDA+ mobo
Corsair ValueRam 512MB running at 220MHz (440MHz DDR)
Western Digital 80GB WD800JB and 40GB WD400BB hard drives
Onboard RealTek/nForce2 NIC
Chaintech AV-710 soundcard
ATI Radeon 9100 128MB video card
ThermalTake Volcano 9 HSF with SmartFan II on CPU
2 ThermalTake SmartFan IIs in case
All fans running around 3300RPM
Lite-On DVD-ROM and CD-RW drives
Hauppauge WinTV Stereo card
Old Dell 17" Trinitron monitor
Windows XP Pro SP1

I plan on changing the WD400BB out for a Samsung SP1614N 160GB hard drive soon. The soundcard was just upgraded a month or so ago, but I already want a new one. I might also go another stick of memory just to run in dual channel mode and gain some more speed. I'm sure if I upgraded to a better video card this would be one helluva gaming rig, but I rarely game so that extra speed gets used for Folding@Home most of the time now.

1. What is your current setup?
Windows XP
AMD XP2400+ (at ~2.4ghz)
A7N8X (deluxe)
GTXP (main soundcard)
350gb of HD space

2. What do you think about it?
Fast enough for anything and room to spare, but the hard drives are too noisy if I buy open 'phones.

3. What plans do you have for improvement?
Near future: Upgrade to an Audigy2 (maybe modded)
Currently: Finish creating a file server (less noise and heat) and silence the main computer
