looks solid core. a good wire would be mogami quad 24 awg stripped down.

I would just keep it stock, forget the recable
It's not worth it, and it doesn't up the SQ in anyway. If you like the looks of the braids, go for it.
Its really easy I did it, but the cable was too stiff for portable use
