Portable with the maximum available space as #1 concern

Sorry I would of edited post but i dont see an edit button please forgive me. What I've found in research is that there are 1.8" drives that are 240GB and fir the ipod 5th G? Is that the biggest size i can possibly get in a portable media player. If it is will it work in the original 6th gen 160GB that was fatter then then new 160gb 6g aka (7g).
 
Still  would prefer more then 240GB in space even.

Nope. No line-out. Also it's much bigger than the iPod, so that.
Yeah the biggest you can go right now is a dual-platter 240GB for the Video. Unless you can install 256GB CF cards.

There is no ipod sized player with 500gb. You have to start looking at much bigger portables to even approach that size. Archos players from what I read sound terrible and there certainly would be no point using flac on those either.

Best bet would be to get the ipod and replace the hd with 240 gb. If I was not going to mod, I would probably get the Cowon X7 whoch has 160 gb.
