I had a question.  I am newbie in to amps and till now was mostly a ipod listener.

I wanted to get into better portable audio. So i am wondering should i go for a amp to go along with my android phone ? ( however that gets bit bulky and might not be good for portability)

or should i go for a amp & portable player combo like Dx50 or F x3 ?

as for earphones am looking at either gr07 or dunu1000.

my music is primarily classical 70 rocks, alternate rock or bit of techno like Daftpunk.

Thank you.

I think you should go for a DAP (Digital Audio Player), like the FiiO X3 or iBasso DX50
If you want to save a few dollars, get the Sandisk Sansa Clip Zip ($40-$60) and install the Rockbox firmware.
Might also read up on the website Anythingbutipod.

More one reads more one gets confused , especially if "one" is not actually knowledgeable enough.

I am now totally split

1) DAC  +  Player  -  Cowon + BH
2) DAC/ Player combo - DX50, E3, Cowon/Sandisk etc

If you were to pick which one would be your choice. My budget at max is around 400$ (+ - 20$)  (including earphones)

Mp4nation has a DX 50 + Dunu 1000 for around 420$ combo.  However then read how many were not happy with DX 50.

Do suggest how can i get best music value for my money.

Thank you.
